Investigation design:
1. Hypothesis: well-formed prediction (if X then Y because Z)
2. Variables: independent (what you change), dependent (what you measure), controlled (what you keep same)
3. Methodology: step-by-step procedure with enough detail to replicate
4. Data collection: what data to record, how often, in what format
5. Analysis plan: how to interpret the data (graphs, calculations, comparisons)
6. Validity threats: what could make the results unreliable and how to reduce those risks
7. Ethical considerations (if applicable)
8. What result would support or refute the hypothesis

Note: a good experiment tests one thing. If you have multiple hypotheses, run multiple experiments.
